Regular route is I-75/I-85 South & North – but during rush hour it can be jammed.
A good way to get to the airport is to completely bypass the Atlanta downtown traffic.

EXIT Camp Creek Parkway / Exit #2

CONTINUE South on Camp Creek Parkway all the way to the airport.

COBB to DUNWOODY / Perimeter Mall area
TAKE Highway 41 South /Cobb Parkway South

CONTINUE on it all the way to Mt. Paran Rd

CONTINUE on Mt. Paran Rd to Rowswell Rd

LEFT on Roswell Rd

CONTINUE on Roswell Rd all the way to the Perimeter Mall area.

DOWNTOWN ATLANTA / BUCKHEAD to DUNWOODY / Perimeter Mall area
NORTH on Peachtree Road

LEFT on Peachtree Dunwoody Rd

CONTINUE on Peachtree Dunwoody Rd all the way to Perimeter Mall

NORTHWEST COBB COUNTY (Powder Springs, N. Marietta) to DOWNTOWN ATLANTA
I-75 South is the normal route, but here’s a shortcut:

TAKE Dallas Highway all the way to Highway 92

CONNECT to Thornton Road

EAST on Thornton Road to I-20

CONTINUE on I-20 to downtown area

NORTH COBB COUNTY to DOWNTOWN ATLANTA
TAKE Highway 41 SOUTH (Cobb’s main thoroughfare) all the way into downtown

COBB COUNTY to BUCKHEAD
TAKE Highway 41 SOUTH all the way to West Paces Ferry Road

West Paces Ferry Rd is where you’ll find the Governor’s Mansion!

CONTINUE on West Paces Ferry Rd until it intersects with Peachtree Road

ATLANTA to HOLDEN BEACH
Instead of taking I-20 from Columbia to Florence...
TAKE 378 which you'll pick up in Columbia (it runs parallel to and south of I-20)
TAKE 378 to Conway where it runs briefly with 501 South, to get to 544
TAKE 544 to connect you with the south end of the 31
From there - on to 17 to 130

ATLANTA to HOLDEN BEACH alternate route
Before you get to Rains on 501
TAKE 76 instead of 501
Bear LEFT at the Beneteau boat factory instead of staying right for 501
TAKE 76 through Marion and Mullins
You'll go through lots of traffic lights, but not major jams like on the 501
TAKE 76 until you get to the 9
TAKE 9 all the way to the 17

ATLANTA to HOLDEN BEACH another alternate route..
TAKE I-95 NORTH all the way to I-74
TAKE I-74 EAST either to :
140 at Whiteville, and from there the normal route to Holden
or
TAKE 74 to 211 near Bolton
TAKE 74 all the way to 17 (at Supply) and from there
HEAD SOUTH on 17 for a short while until you pick up 130 to take into Holden
